WHAT'S IN A SURVEY?

When you invest your hard earned money into your glazing project, you trust us to provide quality products and to install them effectively in your home. But we can't ensure that will go smoothly if we were to rely on other people's measurements. We need to have eyes on your project in order for us to take responsibility for the whole process.

Also, windows and doors aren't off the shelf products. They are made to measure, and so require accurate measurements.

Most of the time we would say no. This is because an experienced and qualified window surveyor will fully understand the specific product being installed. If an opening is not square or uniform, a skilled surveyor can apply the necessary tolerances to guarantee an impeccable fit.

We ask customers to fill out a Digital Survey Form which asks for contact and address details, images of inside and outside of the property and access. We share this with our surveyors and it helps give them an idea of the project before they even arrive for survey, improving efficiency.

Absolutely. If you're working closely with a builder who wants to discuss FFL's (Finished Floor Level's) for internal flooring (full flush threshold etc) or an architect who has designed the project and wishes to keep their eye on it all - then please invite them to join; our wealth of expertise will ensure we can lead the survey meeting and advise all trades.

Yes. If we survey based on theoretical apertures (based on drawings only) we are certainly asking for trouble! This is when there is scope for measurements to be out, or for a builder to not quite do what is needed. We need to see the final apertures so we can determine manufacturing sizes; and even better - if nobody can then touch that aperture before install it makes our life even easier!

We measure brick to brick (or render to render) outside width and height.
